You can pull out samples and look at them in person. It was helpful to be able to drape a fabric sample over a sofa to get a sense for what it would look like. As part of Becker's services they will take the measurements as well as make design plans, and help pick out the items that you love. The sales staff is really well versed in the options and can help you put together a sectional configuration that will work for you. It was cool to see just how many different sectional pieces were available, you really can put together something that will be perfect for your room.
Also, the sales person we spoke with mentioned that many of the sofas we saw in their showroom could be ordered as a sectional too. That adds a ton of different style options if you are shopping for a sectional. It looked like most of what we saw was a good value, the brands they carry are good quality and the prices were about what you would expect. If you go in for this, be sure to ask your salesperson to point out which sofas can also be ordered as a sectional.
Outdoor Furniture
Summer in Minnesota is reason enough to celebrate outdoors every weekend. Having a nice outdoor space that is comfortable and attractive makes it even better. Becker Furniture World in Fridley has a large amount of outdoor and patio furniture available early spring through mid-summer. You'll see more if you go to a specialty store, but there was definitely enough here to make it worth checking out if you're nearby.
Outdoor Seating and Living Room Sets
There is a good selection of table and chair sets here. They had an assortment of different sizes and styles, you could find a table big enough for the whole family to sit down, a smaller table for a smaller space, and a lot in between. There were also different table heights, standard dining height and some pub table height options.
Becker also has outdoor living room sets. We tried a few out and they were really comfortable. The living room sets have options for a sofa, love seat, chairs, and tables. You could create a cozy outdoor living room with your space. They also had some big outdoor umbrellas to keep your space nice and shaded on those hot summer days.
Outdoor Entertaining
We noticed a theme for Becker's outdoor selection - outdoor entertaining. Most of what they had on display would be perfect for accommodating your friends and family for a summer cook out or happy hour. They have a surprisingly good selection of high quality grills and cookers. They even had some outdoor lighting and decor options. One of my personal favorites there was a bar-level table with a small, gas fire pit in the middle that would be awesome for roasting s'mores or just staying warm on cooler nights.
Reclining Furniture
The Fridley Becker location has a ton of reclining furniture! If you're shopping for a recliner or a reclining sofa definitely check this location out. They have a huge area of the store dedicated to reclining furniture and it is awesome.
Everyone has had the dream of a home movie theater, right? Well, the hidden key to creating that perfect set up is in this huge area dedicated to reclining furniture. Whether you are a snuggler and want a love seat with reclining abilities for date night or an entertainer and want a full sofa to fit all your friends, there are plenty of options to test out at this location.
Or maybe you're not interested in a home theater and just want a comfortable chair to sink into after work. Becker hosts over 20 different brands of recliners in all different styles, plushness, and perks. A cool perk we found with the power options is that you can lay back to take a nap just by pressing a button or charge your phone through a USB port that some of the power recliners offer.
There are a ton of options for pet owners and parents, too, because of the Stain-Resistant and Durable fabric options.
Kid’s Section
Kids are constantly growing and their tastes are always changing, but something that is always important is their safety. The children's section at Becker has a variety of styles for all tastes and also has some really great safety features through their brands like KiDi Comfort Crib Mattresses and smartstuff Furniture.
Some features of smartstuff Furniture includes lead free finishes, anti-tip resistance, ASTM and CPSC certification, softened edges and corners on all pieces, and built-in stops that prevent dresser drawers from falling out. With that in mind, I was able to find decor, dressers, lamps, chairs, cribs, and multiple styles and types of beds specifically designed for children's rooms.
Amish Style
The Fridley Becker has an impressively large selection of Amish furniture. They have bedroom, tables, and chairs on display in their own section. A unique feature of the Amish Style furniture is that all of the pieces can be customized by type of wood, color, and finishing. Since each piece is handcrafted within the US, each piece is also unique. The wood items make timeless and durable options that can be passed on between generations. The various collections within the Amish Style all have their own call to fame that makes them really stand out.
Delivery
Becker has delivery options that are standard for a bigger furniture store. They will deliver to your home, carry your furniture in (not everywhere will do this - be sure to ask), and remove any packaging materials. There is typically a delivery charge based on what you purchased. Becker employs experienced full time delivery professionals, which can make the difference between an OK experience and a really good experience. For mattress delivery, they will also take your old mattress and dispose of it.
